HAVING A/C
ISSUES?
Check Your Circuit Breaker
Don’t forget to check your circuit breaker! Often times, a simple flip of a switch is all our technician has to do to solve the problem. Make sure you’ve checked your circuit breakers to see if you can resolve this issue yourself.

Is the Drain Line Clogged?
Check if the thermostat is blank. If so, the drain line could be clogged and the float switch cut the power to protect your system. Use a shop vac to clear the drain line and your system should function properly again in no time.

Is the Air Filter Clean?
A dirty filter can block airflow and cause your system to shut down or struggle. Try replacing it with a fresh one.
Air Conditioning Tips

How often should I change my filter?
The frequency depends on the type of filter you use and how often your system runs. In general, standard filters should be replaced every month. However, high-efficiency filters can last between six to twelve months before needing a change.

What temperature should I set my thermostat to?
The ideal setting is one that keeps you comfortable while helping manage your utility bills. However, the key factor in your home is often humidity. Maintaining a higher level in the winter and a lower level in the summer ensures both personal comfort and helps prevent mold and mildew growth.

Why won't my outdoor unit come on?
The issue could be that the double pole breaker in the panel has been tripped. It may also be time for a service check to ensure the safety switches are functioning properly. If these switches have been triggered, they will prevent the A/C unit from receiving the signal to turn on.

Why is my indoor unit leaking water?
A clogged condensation drain or frozen indoor coil could be the culprit, often caused by a dirty filter or low refrigerant levels. In this case, the drain should be cleared, and the filter may need to be replaced to resolve the issue.

Why Is My Thermostat Blank?
If your thermostat suddenly goes dark, there are a few simple things you can check before calling in a repair. The most common cause is a triggered float switch. This happens when your drain line is backed up and the system shuts off to prevent water damage. If your thermostat uses batteries, try replacing them. You’ll also want to take a quick look at your circuit breaker in case it’s been tripped. If everything looks good and your screen is still blank, give us a call. We’ll take it from there.

A room is too hot or too cold?
If one room in your home always feels warmer or cooler than the rest, it could be a sign that your system isn’t properly sized or balanced for your space. It may be time to have one of our comfort advisors take a look and make sure everything is set up for optimal airflow and even temperatures throughout your home.
